OnePlus 11 to provide 4 years of Android & 5 years of security updates

Yes, you heard that right, this morning, Pete Lau indeed confirmed that OnePlus 11 will be the first smartphone by the brand to provide 4 years of Android & 5 years of security updates. This is a top-notch level of promise from the iconic brand which looks forward to retaining its pole position as a disruptor.

Back when OnePlus provided up to 3 years of software updates it was big deal but now as both Apple and Samsung have stepped up their game in terms of updates, OnePlus also has to assure its flagship smartphone buyers. So, the company’s Co-Founder Pete Lau came on Twitter that OnePlus 11 provides 4 major versions of Android.

This means as the OnePlus 11 will already have Android 13 in it, you are secured up to Android 17 and also one will get up to 5 years of security updates which is a big deal. So, anyone who will buy this upcoming OnePlus flagship will surely be tension-free for the next few years to come.

OnePlus 11 Specifications

The OnePlus 11 will have an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. There are rumours that it will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens on the rear panel.

The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will power the OnePlus 11 internally and has already shattered all records across Geekbench and AnTuTu.

You can expect up to 512GB storage configuration and up to 16GB of RAM options. An alleged 5,000mAh battery with 100W rapid charging will power the smartphone. The Android 13 OS will come pre-installed on it.
