Thalaivar fans, get ready — **Rajinikanth’s** *Jailer 2* just dropped its second single, and it’s already being called a love letter to his own legacy.

Titled **“One Sun One Moon,”** the track blends soft rock with traditional Indian music, and its title itself is a nod to Rajinikanth’s iconic 1995 film *Baasha* — a detail longtime fans instantly picked up on.

## Jailer 2 : Overview

Composer **Anirudh Ravichander** — who’s sung the track himself alongside MS Krsna — has crafted a sound that keeps Jailer’s core spirit alive while adding a grander, more celebratory feel. The lyrics carry most of the emotional weight, with the makers also releasing fresh glimpses of Rajinikanth in full superstar mode from the film.

*Jailer 2* picks up after the events of 2023’s blockbuster *Jailer*, with Rajinikanth reprising his role as **Muthuvel Pandian**. Joining him this time are Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu — several reportedly playing antagonists — alongside buzzworthy cameos expected from Hrithik Roshan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Vijay Sethupathi.

What makes this rollout stand out isn’t just the star power — it’s how deliberately the makers are threading nostalgia into new music, a technique increasingly common in franchise films worldwide, much like the callbacks seen in long-running **[film franchises](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_series)**.

Rajinikanth isn’t slowing down either — he’s next set to headline the action film *Dharman*, followed by the highly anticipated *KHxRK*, reuniting him with Kamal Haasan.
