Eiichiro Oda likes to introduce characters without revealing their full visage in his manga, a tradition that began early on and led to quite the troll results. The silhouette of the Yonko in past chapters was hilarious as well. One Piece Chapter 1115 finally revealed a silhouette of the legendary pirate from ages past, Joy Boy.

Vegapunk then broadcasts to the world in chapter 1115, and a panel displays what looks like Joy Boy’s silhouette. The broadcast shows a war between Joy Boy, the first pirate born in One Piece, and an alliance of islands. Joy Boy takes humanoid form in Gear 5 and is airborne facing off against a group of characters who appear to be wearing some kind of crowns.
The chapters before mention that Joy Boy used Nika in a battle, so he was presumably the old user of Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika (Luffy’s Devil Fruit). Then, the guy who waving that hat is called Joy Boy, you note here interestingly that this silhouette resembles Luffy in Gear 5 form with a major cloud all over only the upper of his neck if refer back to the previous post possibly a white motif from Gear 5. So for the next evolution, Luffy has chances of hybrid transformation.
Ever since the giant Straw Hat, which we assume belonged to Joy Boy was discovered in Imu’s possession it has only further solidified those beliefs. This reinforces a callback to the theory of Joy Boy being hailed in Giant Legend. Additionally, the moment Zunesha announced Joy Boy’s return upon Luffy unlocking Gear 5 foreshadowed the eventual encounter with someone resembling Luffy.
Oda has a history of teasing fans with silhouettes, as seen with the Five Elders in their Devil Fruit forms. Considering the sharing of Joy Boy’s tale, it’s likely that the complete appearance of the first pirate will be revealed in the manga soon.
