Despite only two matchdays into the 20/21 season, the race for the Golden Boot is on! Since there are multiple players that can win the award for their respective teams this season, we decided to make the list a little more diverse and consider who is the most likely to win the Golden Boot award from each of the predicted top-half teams.

Injuries, form and past records do come into account while predicting the entries. However, it is difficult to call the shots in football. You never know who might end up surprising us!

So, without further ado, here are our predictions.

Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

This one is an absolute no-brainer. The Gabon international has been in unbelievable form and captained the Gunners to FA Cup success last season. Being off the mark already, Aubameyang is sure to be at the top of the list.

Chelsea: Timo Werner

Although he is yet to score his first Premier League goal, Werner looks poised for a brilliant first season in England. The German was neck-deep in battle with Lewandowski in the Bundesliga last season and has the hunger to succeed in England as well.

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha

Palace have won both of their first two fixtures and look unstoppable as of now. Zaha looks set to stay in London, with no suitors willing to prize him away. The winger already has 3 goals to his name and is Palace’s most important attacker. This could be the season where Zaha finally shows his class throughout the season.

Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Big Dom already has four goals to his name and shares the top spot with Son. Should Ancelotti be able to bring out the best of the striker consistently, he might just end up having a 15-20 goal season.

Leicester City: Jamie Vardy

It is hard to bet against last season’s golden boot winner and the form that he has been in. Despite being in his thirties, Vardy shows no signs of slowing down and could successfully defend his crown as the top scorer in the Premier League.

Liverpool: Sadio Mane

Given the sheer quality of the players at Liverpool, even the full-backs could be in contention. However, few can offer the consistency and the clinical finishing that Mane brings to Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Manchester City: Raheem Sterling

With Aguero on the sidelines and Jesus being inconsistent in front of goal, Sterling is the biggest threat up front. The England international must move past his mistakes last season and deliver his best in this campaign.

Manchester United: Marcus Rashford

Despite Rashford being moved out wide and Martial playing striker, the former is more consistent in front of goal. Rashford’s pace makes him an immediate threat to any opposition he faces and could win the award if he capitalises on his talents.

Tottenham Hotspur: Heung-Min Son

Son is already way ahead of the rest this season, netting 4 against Southampton over the weekend. Should the Korean be consistent on the pitch, he could overtake Kane as the prime candidate for the Golden Boot this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Raul Jimenez

The Mexican international has been a serious threat under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. With the quality that the team has, it is almost certain that Jimenez will be somewhere around the top of the list.
