The clubs have also agreed the transfer of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea to Villa, after his impressive loan spell with Borussia Dortmund in the second half of the 23/24 season. The two transfers are separate from one another, resulting in pure profit on the books of both clubs, who need to comply with the Premier League’s PSR.
Omari Kellyman made only a handful of appearances for the senior team this past season, all of which were cameos from the bench. However, he was quite impressive at the youth level, scoring seven goals in 11 Premier League 2 matches.
Style of play and first team chances
The 18-year-old primarily operates as an attacking midfielder, but can also play on the wings. As things stand, he could come into Chelsea’s youth team to sharpen his skills further, with former Villa player Carney Chukwuemeka, Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher all competing for a spot in the number 10 role.
Has Kellyman played for England youth teams?
Yes, he has played at the U20 and U19 levels.
