## Sundance Gold → Bidding War → A24

When *The Invite* debuted at Sundance, it captivated audiences and sparked a multi-day bidding war that included Focus Features, Neon, Netflix, Apple, Searchlight, and Black Bear — before A24 ultimately walked away with the prize. [Variety](https://variety.com/2026/film/news/the-invite-trailer-olivia-wilde-a24-1236709864/) Wilde also received a standing ovation after the screening — a genuine, well-earned moment of triumph.

This is [Olivia Wilde](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivia_Wilde)‘s third feature film as director, and it looks like her most assured work yet.
