Harry Maguire to leave Manchester United with £40 million loss expected

Harry Maguire has been highly criticized in the last couple of weeks. It all started in the pre-season when he was arrested after an altercation with Police in Greece. He was also left out of the England squad back then.

After the 2020-21 season resumes, he was criticized for his poor performance in the first few games of the Premier League. Manchester United lost against Crystal Palace by 3-1 in their opening game of the season. They lost again at home against Tottenham Hotspurs by 6-1. Harry Maguire has produced very poor performances in both the matches.

Maguire has also been criticized by some United legends like Patrice Evra and many others for his poor captaincy as well.

He was sent off yesterday against Denmark in the 35th minute of the game with his national team. After that, it was noticed that he is surely lacking some confidence in his game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer always backs his players if they are having a bad phase. He never loses his confidence in his team members. David De Gea and Paul Pogba are recent examples. But some pundits suggest that Harry Maguire should have given some time off so that he heals himself and get back to his very best again.

It has been also said that Harry prefers to play on the right side of the central back pair. But he has to play on the left side for both club and country. Though Victor Lindelof was seen playing on the left side of the central-back pair for Sweden against Portugal. Sweden lost the match by 3-0. But Lindelof was surprisingly one of the best players on the pitch in that match.

Some pundits also suggest using Maguire as right centre-back. It is now time that Ole has to take a tough decision. There are some highly important and tough games ahead for Manchester United. United need their defender back in form before those high demanding fixtures.
