Former Ajax star, Donny Van De Beek is a highly rated midfielder. He signed for Manchester United in the last summer transfer window and was expected to take his career to the next level.
But Van De Beek’s time at United hasn’t been ideal. He has found game time hard to come by. Ronald de Boer’s commented that he should leave the club if he wants to play for Holland in the forthcoming Euros.
Solskjaer has now commented on Donny Van De Beek’s situation ahead of their FA cup match: “I’ve answered this question so many times, and there’s so many examples of players needing a little bit of time, quality players, we have examples ourselves, other clubs have examples. Sometimes it takes time.”
“You don’t expect people who care for him to be quiet at times when they want the best for him.”
“Donny is going to play tomorrow. There’s another chance for him and yes I spoke to him and reiterated how much we rate him.”
“But he’ll play tomorrow and that’s a good chance again to kick on.”
When Donny Van De Beek has been given opportunities to play, he has impressed on the field. But still, then he hasn’t got many opportunities, which is a matter of concern.
Solskjaer must find a way to fit him into the team quickly or else a player of his calibre won’t sit in the bench for too long and there are many top European clubs who would want him in their teams.
