The wait is almost over for the East Bengal fans. SC East Bengal is going to start their ISL journey tonight. Interestingly they will face their oldest rivals and defending champion ATK Mohun Bagan FC to start their journey. It adds some extra flavour to the ice as well. East Bengal fans are already extremely excited to cheer their team.

SC East Bengal has already signed some of the extremely talented foreigners such as Danny Fox, Scot Neville, Anthony Pilkington, Aaron-Amadi Halloway, Matti Steinmann, Jacques Maghoma. Besides that, they have added some highly experienced and talented Indians into the squad. SC East Bengal boss Robbie Fowler has already cleared his idea of making a team who plays for their badge in the jersey more than playing for themselves.

Finally, today East Bengal has announced the names of their captain and the vice-captain. Former Wigan Athletic defender Danny Fox is named as the captain of the Red & Golds. Danny Fox said, “This is a big responsibility and I am ready for it. The Gaffer has shown his trust in me and I will not let him down.”

Anthony Pilkington, the English left-winger and former Wigan Athletic teammate of Danny Fox, is named as the vice-captain of the team. He said, “Being the vice-captain of SC East Bengal brings with it a lot of responsibility. This team has a lot of leaders and they are all pushing each other. We have one goal, and that is to do well in our maiden ISL season.”

‘Kolkata Derby’ is one of the oldest and greatest rivalries in Asia. ISL will have the taste of the excitement today for the very first time.
