Brighton has finally managed to sign Moises Caicedo on a permanent deal from Independiente del Valle. They have beaten the likes of Manchester United, who were also interested in signing the 19-year-old.
Moises Caicedo has now signed a contract until June 2025 worth €6m with Brighton. His arrival at the Amex Stadium is now only subject to international clearance.
Brighton head coach Graham Potter told the club’s official website: ‘It’s no secret we have been working to bring Moises to the club and we are very pleased he is finally here.
‘He will need time to settle in with the group, for us to get to know him and vice versa, as well as get up to speed and ready for the demands of the Premier League.
‘He has done very well in Ecuador and made his debut for his country just 18. He’s an exciting signing, but it is important we give him time to adjust.’
Caicedo has made 31 appearances for his club domestically. He has scored 6 and provided 2 assists during his time in Ecuador. He has also scored once in four appearances for his country. Now it will be a big test for him to prove himself in one of the best leagues.
