Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract to keep him at Arsenal till 2027. The Spaniard has helped transform the team into title contenders, and the club has rewarded his efforts with a new contract to tie him down for three more years.

The former Manchester City assistant joined the club after the dismissal of Unai Emery in 2019. While the transformation has taken time, his effectiveness is undeniable and the Gunners are now one of the biggest threats to defending champions, Man City.

Of the 234 games the 42-year-old has been in charge, he has won 142, drawn 35 and lost 57. He has won the FA Cup once and the Community Shield twice while in charge of the North London club.

While the style of play has no doubt changed at the Emirates, the most notable change is the mentality of the players and the dressing room. Arteta has helped transform their approach to the game, and it clearly shows in their results.

The coach has been supported in the transfer window extensively as well, and it remains to be seen whether he can bring the Premier League trophy back to North London within the next three years.
