Five-times I League champions Mohun Bagan merged with three-times ISL champions ATK. The new entity was registered in the name of ATK Mohun Bagan FC and they will play in Indian Super League (ISL) from the next season.
The club has released an official statement today at around 2 pm. They have confirmed that they have decided to retain the iconic green and maroon jersey of Mohun Bagan. The logo will also be the same which has a sailing boat. The only change in the logo will be the inclusion of ‘ATK’ as a prefix to the club’s old name ‘Mohun Bagan FC’.
Mohun Bagan carries the legacy of 131 years of football. So the board of directors decided to retain the culture and tradition associated with one of India’s most iconic clubs.

Dr Sanjiv Goenka, Principal owner of ATK Mohun Bagan, who has an 80% stake in the entity said “My pronams to the many legends who have over decades contributed to the great legacy that Mohun Bagan is. I seek their blessings on this new journey. Mohun Bagan has been close to my heart since childhood. I have had the honour to watch the Green and Maroon play some of their best football. We respect the legacy and have retained the same jersey which generations down the line have embraced, adored and loved. My dream is to establish ATK Mohun Bagan as a world-class team which earns its place in the international circuit.”

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, co-owner and one of the directors of ATK Mohun Bagan said “I salute the coming together of ATK and Mohun Bagan. Together the brand name ATK Mohun Bagan will create history.”
The club will invest in building a world-class football academy in West Bengal which will help the local players upskill their talent. They want to ensure that West Bengal becomes the Powerhouse of Indian football. ATK Mohun Bagan soccer schools will also be launched across the country which will impart high-quality football education.
ATK Mohun Bagan FC will also make investments to refurbish the existing Mohun Bagan facility in order to host ISL and AFC home games there.
