Odisha FC defeated SC East Bengal 2-1 in the ISL to pick up all three points after a strong display. Here are the three key talking points from the game.

Jonathas and Hernandez combine for both goals

The two stars of Odisha FC brought their A-game today and combined for both of the goals scored in the game. First, Jonathas opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with Javi Hernandez providing the assist. And only ten minutes after Antonio Perosevic had found the equaliser for the Red and Golds, Javi Hernandez got onto the scoresheet himself to take the lead once more.

End of the road for SC East Bengal

With the defeat against Odisha FC, East Bengal are officially out of the race for the playoffs. They never really got going this season, and have only earned one win in their 16 games so far this season. And with only four left, it seems unlikely that things will get any better for them. They are currently in second-last place, with NorthEast United at the bottom of the table.

Odisha FC still in the race

Being only two points away from Bengaluru FC, who have also played 15 games so far, Odisha FC are still in the race for a playoff spot. However, the other teams have games in hand which could raise the gap further. To finish in the top four, they will need to win all their remaining matches and hope that one of the teams drop points in some capacity.
