NVIDIA’s upcoming Ampere based GA106 GPU leaked

The graphics giant NVIDIA is planning to brings next big GPU to market in the form of GA106 GPU and much like the G104 GPU, which we see on the new RTX 30-series GPUs, the image of it is leaked by none other than Videocardz.

NVIDIA already announced its upcoming budget GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card at CES and it is all set to arrive by the end of February. So, the new RTX 3060 will use GA106-300 GPU with 3584 CUDA cores which is why in the picture we see the GPU labelled as 400.

The GPU looks identical to the GA106-300, in this case, surrounded by 6 modules of K4ZAF3258M-HC16 memory clocked at 16 Gbps, each having 2GB of memory. The board is flexible enough to be used by OEMs, and NVIDIA could also make RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 3050 Ti GPUs as well.

Videocardz even went on to compare the sizes, and the GPU appears to have a die size of 276 mm2 which is a lot smaller than Turing GPU like the TU106 (445 mm2), as well as the TU116 (284 mm2). It would be interesting to see how the new RTX 3060 performs with 12GB VRAM and delivers up to what NVIDIA promised.

However, the main problem with the RTX 30-series GPUs is about the availability, getting one now is a very tough job, and if you do end up getting one for yourself, the problem lies with the inflated prices. So, before launching newer GPUs, NVIDIA should work on the availability of these graphics cards.
