Recently, NVIDIA has relaunched its old RTX 2060 GPU but this time with 12GB GDDR6 memory to fight against the chip shortage and increase prices of raw materials. However, this will be an OEM exclusive card so you will have to bear with the ridiculous pricing.
Even though NVIDIA thought it would tackle the demand for GPUs, these new RTX 2060 12GB GPUs are hard to find in stock a Videocardz points out. While even if there are any offers, the pricing hovers around 600 EUR and could go up to 700 EUR.
The GPU still features the turning bases, TU106-300 graphics processor featuring 2176 CUDA cores and uses 2 GDDR6 modules to reach 12GB memory that is clocked at 14Gbps. Even though the RTX 2060 SUPER is no longer to be found but as NVIDIA relaunched the base RTX 2060 but with some tweaks, the new card should be better than the SUPER one on paper.
NVIDIA didn’t provide any review samples though but PCMarket has already managed to obtain ZOTAC RTX 2060 12GB Twin Edge GPU that too a sample one. In their review, in gaming, the new RTX 2060 12GB GPU performed toe-to-toe with RX 6600 XT or even the RTX 3060 and offered almost similar performance which is good.
However, the interesting fact lies not in gaming but mining as it stands this GeForce RTX 2060 12GB could end up being a good option for miners. Without any LHR limiter, this card could give 31.65MH/s at lower 83.44W TDP and that is pretty good, even better than the RX 6600 XT.
This launch is merely a sign that NVIDIA looks to tackle the situation of the GPU or make some profit by selling old GPUs, it neither made any official launch statement stating the MSRP or such.
