Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card is a beast offering 10% more performance than its non-Ti counterpart

According to CapframeX, the developer of the frame time capturing and hardware analysis application, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card would deliver a 10% performance boost over its non-Ti counterpart at 4K resolutions. Although no games were listed, it appears that this is the best-case scenario for the card. Apart from that, the card is believed to run at or slightly above 2 GHz, implying a significant performance gain.

We must keep in mind that the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti features the entire GA102 GPU with two additional SMs, better clock speeds, quicker memory speeds, beefier cooling solutions, and an outrageous 450W TGP.

The GA102 GPU is at the heart of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. The GA102 is NVIDIA’s flagship gaming GPU, as well as the company’s fastest gaming GPU. The GPU has a total of 28 billion transistors and is based on Samsung’s 8nm proprietary manufacturing node created particularly for NVIDIA. It has a surface area of 628mm2, making it the second-largest gaming GPU ever made, after the Turing TU102 GPU that powered the RTX 2080 Ti and Titan RTX.

NVIDIA has enabled a total of 84 SM units on the GeForce RTX 3090, resulting in a total of 10,752 CUDA cores (compared to 82 SM / 10496 cores on the RTX 3090 Non-Ti). NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti includes CUDA cores as well as next-generation RT (Ray-Tracing) cores, Tensor cores, and brand new SM or streaming multi-processor units. The GPU’s base clock frequency is 1560 MHz, with a boost clock frequency of 1860 MHz. The card’s TDP is 450W. (a 100 Watt increase over the RTX 3090).

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti comes with 24 GB of memory, all of which is next-generation GDDR6X. The RTX 3090 Ti can achieve GDDR6X memory rates of 21 Gbps thanks to Micron’s freshest and finest graphics memory chips. This, combined with a 384-bit bus interface, will result in a total bandwidth of 1008 Gbps.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card is also said to be the first PCIe Gen 5.0 graphics card, with a single 16-pin power socket capable of delivering up to 600 Watts of power. Several AIBs are currently debating whether to use the PCIe Gen 5.0 connector like NVIDIA’s Founder Edition or stick with regular 8-pin connectors. The Founders Edition will also use the PG136C PCB board, which appears to be an improved iteration of the PG136 PCB board.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti 24 GB graphics card comes with the newest NVENC Encoder and NVCDEC Decoder, as well as support for the latest APIs, 2nd Generation ray-tracing cores, and 3rd Generation Tensor cores. It supports DLSS, Reflex, Broadcast, Resizable-BAR, Freestyle, Ansel, Highlights, Shadowplay, and G-SYNC, among other contemporary RTX features.
