NVIDIA RTX 5090 & 5080 Price Leak Shows $1250 Difference

The prices for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs have been indirectly revealed through the Acer Predator Orion Desktop PCs. While these prices appear high, it is too early to know if this will be a reflection of retail prices at the time the GPUs are officially launched. Based on MSRP prices, the price difference between the two cards when purchased separately may actually be less.

Early Price Leak Reveals $1250 Difference in NVIDIA RTX 5090 & 5080 Acer Predator Orion 7000 PCs

Earlier this week we heard news that Acer was planning gaming desktops to feature upcoming NVIDIA Blackwell GPUS, the GeForce RTX 5090, and RTX 5080 under the Predator Orion 7000 series. While there aren’t any official pricing and availability details yet, the site good a leak from Notebookcheck, which gives us an idea of how much these configurations will cost.

NVIDIA GeForce2 NVIDIA RTX 5090 & 5080 Price Leak Shows $1250 Difference

Predator Orion 7000 desktops were listed by German online retailer OTTO showing the early pricing. One was at €4,699 (approx $4900 with VAT) on the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, 32 GB DDR5 memory, 1TB storage & RTX 5090. The price is roughly $4080, excluding VAT. The alternative configuration, which included an RTX 5080, carried a similar price of €3,499 (~$3649 including VAT), equivalent to about $3040 before VAT.

This means that the price gap would have been around $1040 excluding VAT or $1250 including German VAT. This does not mean that the RTX 5090 will ask for a $1000-$1250 premium against the RTX 5080 during both GPU launches. Rumors suggest that the gap between the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 is going to be larger than RTX 4090 and RTX 4080.

Pricing details will be announced in full at CES 2025, where we’d expect to see the updated Acer Predator Orion 7000 desktops on show.
