According to fresh rumors coming out of the rumor hill, we are hearing that NVIDIA is reportedly in the works of developing a brand new GeForce RTX 30 GPUs for both the desktop and mobile platforms. Courtesy of veteran leaker, Kopite7kimi, who has an excellent track record of having accurate leaks in the past has pointed out the production plans of the said GPUs.
We already have heard several reports that the chipmaker is gearing to release its GeForce RTX 30 SUPER Mobility GPUs for early 2022. The GPUs will be based on the Ampere Refresh SKUs. NVIDIA is almost finished with its entire Ampere Phase 1 launch and the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti & RTX 3070 Ti were the last of the high-end offerings within the lineup. And we already know that the RTX 3050 Ti & RTX 3050 have started shipping with various laptops.
So coming back to the rumor now, we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 SUPER Refresh which is reported to be part of ‘Ampere Phase 2’ is stated to go into production this quarter. The GPUs will focus on design optimizations along with retaining their hardware-level block on crypto mining algorithms. The graphics manufacturer will attach the legacy node GPUs (Samsung 8nm) to wider bus interfaces with higher VRAM capacity to drive up performance. This will certainly be an epic release.
the leaker also mentions that there would be no node change in the GeForce RTX 30 SUPER Refresh for both desktop and mobile platforms. according to the tweets we can expect to see GA103 GPU as one of the new SKUs in the lineup. The NVIDIA GA103 will have an ‘S’ SKU which may feature a smaller package along with its 256-bit memory controller.
