Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU beats RTX 3090 Ti GPU in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmark by 30%

Our go-to Twitter leaker @kopite7kimi claims that Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 4090 far outperformed the competition in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, smashing the previous record for graphics performance with a score of 19,000 points. Furthermore, if the information from Kopite is true, it would put the RTX 4090’s performance bar much ahead of everything else currently on the market, even RTX 3090 Ti GPUs that have been frozen in liquid nitrogen.

To put things in context, the user “biso biso” currently holds the title of 3DMark TimeSpy Extreme benchmark champion, scoring 14,611 points with an EVGA RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin Edition graphics card that is LN2 cooled.

Once more, assuming Kopites’ data is accurate, engineering samples of Nvidia 4090 Series are already achieving TimeSpy Extreme scores that are 30% higher than the most aggressively overclocked RTX 3090 Ti models already in use (not to mention regular RTX 3090 Ti models). As a result, when the RTX 4090 is released, we might see even higher scores.

The top die for the Nvidia 40 series, AD102, is expected to have 71 percent more CUDA cores and SMs than Ampere’s top die GA102, according to recent speculations

Due to a more effective TSMC 5nm technology, it will apparently also have clock speeds that are comparable to or even greater than those of the RTX 30 series. The amount of power used is also expected to increase significantly, with flagship 40-series cards perhaps using as much as 500–600 watts.

As a result, it should be anticipated that strong performance benefits will make up for the 40 series’ absurdly high power needs. Nevertheless, as we don’t have complete confirmation of this information, consider this news with a grain of salt. However, given what we already know about Nvidia’s next-generation GPUs, it does have some merit.
