NVIDIA is rumored to release its more potent GeForce RTX 4080 Ti GPU in a similar pricing range to the RTX 4080. And this is supposed to happen in the eary 2024. The most recent rumor is that NVIDIA will introduce a new GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card in early 2024, according to MEGAsizeGPU. This new graphics card may be the GeForce RTX 4080S (SUPER) or the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti, but as it will be more in line with the existing Ada Lovelace offerings, we anticipate the card will have the “Ti” moniker.
RTX 4080 Non-Ti/S will have a slightly worse core configuration than the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti graphics card, which is based on the AD102 GPU core.
Since the current RTX 4080 is equipped with a 256-bit interface and 16 GB of VRAM, the TGP of this new variant is planned to be configured at 450W, though it will likely be closer to the 380-420W range. This card will attempt to bridge the significant performance and specification gap between the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4090.
Regarding cost, it has also been rumored that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti graphics card will be priced similarly to the RTX 4080, which has an MSRP of $1199 US but can be bought for between $1050 and $1100 US at a number of retail locations. That would imply that the current RTX 4080 graphics cards may officially cost $999 US or less, while the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti occupies the $1199 US market, making the pricing of the higher-end Ada cards more reasonable.
It should be kept in mind that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, which retails for $1199 US, did not earn favorable reviews from the consumer market because to its poor price/performance ratio. Although the card is still one of the least popular choices in the NVIDIA RTX 40 portfolio, recent price reductions may ultimately help some units move. The RTX 4090 will continue to be the top model, retailing for $1599 US, but the 4080 Ti raises the possibility that a more expensive RTX 4090 Ti model will be released in the future.
