NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series will at least have five different Models

The GeForce RTX 40 “Ada” laptop GPUs from NVIDIA have been leaked; there will be at least five different models, with the RTX 4090 serving as the flagship. REHWK provided a graphic from an OEM marketing slide displaying multiple next-gen SKUs, which turned out to be the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 “Ada” Laptop GPU SKUs. The “GN21” series will be the name given to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX “Ada Lovelace” GPUs for mobile platforms, and it will have at least five SKUs.

This isn’t the first time the mobility GPUs have leaked out. GPU IDs for a number of desktop and laptop NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards were leaked back in July. None of the SKU names were confirmed in the earlier leak, however Kopite7kimi did note that the flagship won’t be called the RTX 4080. That was accurate, as the flagship will bear the RTX 4090 moniker, it turns out. What’s more intriguing is that the list doesn’t include the RTX 4080 (Non-Ti), RTX 4070 Ti, or RTX 4050.

Each NVIDIA GPU is represented by its GPU in the “X*” identification, as disclosed by Kopite7kimi.

The AD103 GPU will be used in the X11 GPUs, the AD104 in the X9, the AD106 in the X6, and the AD107 in the X4 and X2 GPUs. The leaker also disclosed that the AD106 GPUs will have a TGP of up to 140W while the AD103 & AD104 chips will have a TGP of 175W.

In terms of the naming convention, NVIDIA’s lineup has unquestionably advanced one tier. The RTX 4090 branding will be used for NVIDIA’s next Ada AD103 GPU, which will use the same GPU core as the last-generation GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, which is now the company’s flagship laptop GPU. NVIDIA is anticipated to launch further SKUs in the RTX 40 desktop family, such as the renamed RTX 4080 12 GB, as well as its laptop GeForce RTX 40 “Ada” portfolio during CES 2023.
