Due to ongoing component shortages, the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB and RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB has been delayed, according to new information about NVIDIA’s upcoming GPU launches. The rumour comes from Igor’s Lab, which claims that the unveiling of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 12GB and RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB has been postponed, citing their industry sources.
Both cards were supposed to be unveiled on December 17th, but it appears that won’t happen now, and the flagship RTX 3090 Ti will be the only new card NVIDIA will have to show off at the CES 2022 press conference.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, according to rumours, will be introduced at CES 2022 and will be available just before the Chinese New Year. The graphics card’s price has yet to be determined, although it is expected to be in the range of $1500-USD 2000 (MSRP).
The RTX 3070 Ti, on the other hand, is said to have been delayed well past the Chinese New Year. This means that the cards will most likely be available in 2-3 months, and while this still means a Q1 ’22 debut, it doesn’t mean that the availability or pricing will be any better than present cards.
In general, the situation of the board partners, whether from NVIDIA or AMD, is relatively tense. In the regions concerned, not only these companies but also suppliers are said to be so severely affected by the shortage of components that temporary plant closures of up to 90% could be expected.
By the way, this imbalance can also be seen in the fact that even companies with a strong focus on graphics cards are now frantically starting to manufacture products completely unrelated to their portfolio or market bought-in products under their brand.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards Update:
The RTX 3070 Ti will be upgraded by NVIDIA to use more memory at a higher efficiency than the present RTX 3080 series. It’s not surprising, given that the GeForce RTX 3060 has more memory than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. However, this means that both the RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti will have less VRAM than the updated RTX 3070 Ti graphics card. In Q1 2022, NVIDIA is slated to release its GeForce RTX 3090 Ti flagship, which will be presented at CES 2022.

NVIDIA is currently indicating that they will no longer produce GPUs with less than eight gigabytes of memory onboard, allowing consumers to use more powerful and efficient GPUs than in previous years. Users who were expecting these cards will have to wait even longer, and will likely have to pay higher prices as a result of the delay, as more companies are now blaming component shortages for such delays.
