As we all know, the whole world is fighting through the shortage of global silicon crisis, and the growing demand for crypto mining has resulted in the extreme shortage of Nvidia’s graphics cards. Adding to the second wave of COVID has all resulted in the suffering of gamers.

But, it seems that Nvidia is taking up a new stand against the growing threat of Cryptominers and the soon-to-be-released GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and the entire existing GeForce RTX 30 lineup will soon be getting revised Ampere GPUs to tackle cryptocurrency mining. Nvidia states that the new GPUs will be featured on all upcoming graphics cards under the GeForce RTX 30 family. However, the already sold ones would remain unaffected.

According to the source, the first batch of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, based on the GA102-225-A1 GPU core, will not be fully protected against cryptocurrency mining. Sources also claim that the GPU can still produce full hash rate performance in mining algorithms with the existing 470.05 BETA driver.

Reports indicate that NVIDIA plans to release a newer Ampere GPU to tackle the hash-rate problem, which should be known as GA102-22*-A1, & will be mass-produced for the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card.

However, Nvidia has made sure that the new GPU, which is already in mass production, won’t work with any existing drivers. Reports also indicate that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti isn’t the only GPU that will be getting a revised Ampere SKUs, so here is the entire line-up of GPUs that will be getting newer chips:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 – GA102-300-A1 -> GA102-302-A1
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 – GA102-200-A1 -> GA102-202-A1
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 – GA104-300-A1 -> GA104-302-A1
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti – GA104-200-A1 -> GA104-202-A1
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 – GA106-300-A1 -> GA106-302-A1

However, if you are thinking of trying to flash the old GPU firmware on the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, then think again. NVIDIA has devised a way that if users flash the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card with the older BIOS firmware, that would result in a black screen and vice versa.
