Borussia Dortmund have confirmed Nuri Sahin as their new manager, replacing Edin Terzic shortly after he announced his resignation. The former midfielder was the assistant manager at the club from January, and has now been promoted ahead of the new season.
He previously managed Antalyaspor, between October 2021 and December 2023, while also serving as their head of football operations. And now, he is set for his second spell as the manager of a senior team.

Sahin came up through the Borussia Dortmund academy and played for them across two spells, totalling seven seasons. Now, he is back in a new role, becoming yet another lifelong Dortmund fan to take the reins at the club.

I’m really looking forward to the challenge at BVB. From day one, I’ll give it all my energy and work with real passion to maximise out chances of success.”
Sven Bender, his co-assistant for the last six months, is expected to continue in his role under Sahin.
