Mohammedan Sporting have completed the signing of Nuno Reis from Melbourne City to reinforce their squad. He will be the replacement for Abdul Kadiri in the squad, who will miss the entire season because of an ACL injury.
Reis matches Kadiri’s profile as a ball-playing defender, and also has some experience playing as a defensive midfielder. The injury to Kadiri was a big blow, with the ISL starting in just a few days. And playing without a full preseason behind him could hinder the club’s performance this season.

The Portuguese defender has a solid profile, having won the A-League Championship twice, and also has experience playing in the AFC Champions League. His career has taken him to Belgium, France, Greece and his native Portugal.
This past season, he kept six clean sheets in 15 games, and wasn’t quite at his best. However, on paper, he looks like a good replacement signing on such short notice for the Jaguars.
He also brings with him a wealth of experience at 33, and could be a surprise for the team provided he can adapt to his new conditions. However, it remains to be seen how long it takes him to feature for his new club.
How tall is Nuno Reis?
