Paris Saint-Germain are expected to follow through with their plans for Nuno Mendes. The left-back has a buy option worth €40 million included in his contract, and the Ligue 1 club intend to activate it in the summer.
The player is the youngest starter as part of the team under Mauricio Pochettino. The French club are paying €7 million to Sporting CP as part of the loan deal this season. And in the summer, they are planning to have him sign a five-year deal.
Nuno Mendes to join PSG permanently in the summer
The teenager has been chosen over Juan Bernat on several occasions, and is one for the future. As a result, the Portuguese defender will be a permanent member of the squad when the season ends.
He will be a big part of the star-studded backline which boasts of Achraf Hakimi on the right and Marquinhos, alongside Presnel Kimpembe in the centre of defense. The Brazilian is also on the verge of signing a new deal, which will extend his stay at the club for the upcoming years.
Nuno Mendes has earned 11 caps for the Portuguese national team, making his debut in the summer of 2021. He is one of the most highly rated young players in Europe, and PSG is the club where he will continue to develop.
PSG are assembling a strong case to try and win the Champions League this season, and took their first step towards the quarter finals with a 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Round of 16.
