Nubia Z60 Ultra has officially debuted in China, marking ZTE’s third smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Chinese market. Positioned as a strong contender against gaming-focused smartphones like the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+, the Z60 Ultra promises exceptional camera performance, positioning itself as a worthy competitor to the OnePlus 12, Realme GT 5 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Pro in the Chinese market.
The All New Nubia Z60 Ultra
The Nubia Z60 Ultra boasts a front display that delivers a truly immersive, full-screen experience. Distinguished by its slim bezels and absence of a camera cutout, thanks to an under-display camera utilizing ZTE’s fifth-generation technology. Three variants—Star Collector’s Edition, Galaxy, and Star Glory colors—are offered, each featuring unique design elements, including a 3D starry sky design on the Starry Sky Collector’s Edition and AG frosting technology for matte and bright finishes on the Galaxy and Star Glory variants. With an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, the device weighs 246 grams and has a thickness of 8.78mm.
The device features a 6.8-inch BOE Q9+ OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1200Hz touch sampling rate, 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, 1500 nits local peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. Security is ensured through an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the Nubia Z60 Ultra offers configurations of up to 24 GB LPDDR5x RAM and an impressive 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage. A 6,000mAh silicone carbon anode battery supports 80W wired charging. The triple-camera system on the rear includes a 50MP Sony IMX800 primary camera, a 50MP OmniVision OV50E ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. All three cameras feature optical image stabilization (OIS) and support 4K 120fps video recording. The front boasts a 12MP under-display camera with a display chip and an AI deep-sensing engine.
The Z60 Ultra runs on My OS 14-based Android 14 and includes features like dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-frequency GPS, an IR blaster, NFC, a USB-C (USB 3.1) port, an x-axis linear motor, and dual speakers. The Nubia Z60 Ultra offers diverse configurations in China, with prices ranging from ¥4,299 ($600) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant to ¥5,999 ($840) for the top-tier 24GB RAM + 1TB storage option.
Additionally, there is a special Starry Night Collector’s Edition, featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at ¥4,999 (~$700). These options cater to a range of user preferences, providing flexibility in terms of both performance and storage capacity.
