Nothing Teases Transparent Smartphone Design Ahead of Launch

Nothing has started teasing up the launch of its next smartphone, albeit not precisely unveiling it at once. Earlier this week, the brand posted a pixelated image of the fire-type Pokémon Arcanine on the same day it tweeted — with the new gadget. Rumor has it that this is the “landmark smartphone” CEO Carl Pei referenced in a leaked email. While further details are awaited, Nothing has now shared another teaser, this time showcasing a design sketch.

Nothing Teases New Smartphone with Transparent Design Sketch, Launch Imminent

The most recent teaser seems to show off the design sketch of the upcoming smartphone that is likely to showcase a transparent back panel. The drawing suggests visible screws and internal components, though it doesn’t fully show the rear panel. So, it’s uncertain whether or not the device will have the brand’s signature Glyph lighting system. It is still pretty tricky to identify the device from this teaser.

Nothing 3 3 Nothing Teases Transparent Smartphone Design Ahead of Launch

Earlier this week, two Nothing phones, with model numbers A059 and A059P, were certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India, likely indicating the phones are destined for that territory, and are likely the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus, with codenames “asteroids” and “asteroids Plus.” A variant of a CMF-branded device with the model number Nothing A001 also recently appeared in the IMEI database, suspected of being the CMF Phone 2. A second possible Nothing device with the identifier 24111 was also listed on the FCC. This is speculative, however, as the teaser image could belong to any of the models.

Nothing 2 1 Nothing Teases Transparent Smartphone Design Ahead of Launch

Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has stated that the new product will launch soon, though no specific date has been revealed. According to the leaked email, the Nothing Phone (3) is slated for release this year and promises “breakthrough innovations” in the user interface, taking initial steps toward an AI-powered platform. The email also hints that the “landmark phone” set for a Q1 launch may not be the Nothing Phone (3) but a separate device. With teasers now rolling out, it’s likely the brand will disclose more details in the coming days.
