Nothing Phone 3 Launching in July 2025 with Snapdragon 8 Elite, AI Features, and New Rear Design
In a surprising announcement, Nothing hinted at retiring its iconic Glyph Interface. A recent teaser on X (formerly Twitter) stated, “We killed the Glyph Interface,” alongside a video showing the original lights fading out.
This suggests the Phone 3 might feature a whole new rear design, though it could also be ready to drop the unique element that made Nothing stand out in a saturated smartphone world. It looks like the company may also be rolling out a new visual style, with teaser images seeming to indicate a return to something that resembles a dot matrix or pixelated rear display.
Retro-evoking animations, pixelated three, and arcade-like themes suggest a blend of nostalgic and futuristic design elements. Based on the teasers, the Phone 3 will be a premium device through and through with a dual-texture backplate with a button and texture combo design. Nothing’s co-founder, Carl Pei, also promised “premium materials” as well as a “software experience that really levels things up”. On the hardware side, the Nothing Phone 3 is said to come with a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1.5K resolution, and a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
It is said to be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The phone is tipped to sport a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired and 20W wireless charging. There are also semi-reliable apocryphal rumors of Silicon Carbon battery tech for greater efficiency and longer life. The rear camera will presumably be headlined by a 50MP sensor, with the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses still unaccounted for. It will have a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calling.
Nothing is also focusing on AI-driven software features like voice-to-text, a Smart Drawer for app organisation, Google’s Circle to Search, and possibly a custom AI assistant, making the Phone 3 the most advanced device in their lineup.
Positioned as their “first true flagship,” the Phone 3 is priced around £800 (about ₹92,000) in the UK, while India could see a more competitive price between ₹60,000 and ₹70,000. This marks a significant price increase from the Phone (2), which started at ₹44,999.
