The information comes from 91mobiles, which states that a purported new Nothing smartphone with the model number A142P has received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The Phone 2a (which has a model number of A142) is now discontinued, and the shared prefix between its name and the upcoming Nothing device suggests that it may have been based on a similar design.

All About the Nothing Phone 2a BIS Certification

The Nothing A142P, codenamed PacManPro earlier surfaced online which hinted at the specs usably close to the mysterious Smart Devices. The “Pro” in the codename hints that there could be a little more going on under the hood and with the Phone 2a.

Then again, it does not make much sense for the Nothing A142P to exist as yet another color of the Nothing Phone 2a, especially since it is set to launch today. You would not expect a new color option to coincide with the change of model number. If you are still a little hesitant, let us remind you that the Nothing Phone 2a Blue variant is white the model number of which (A142), by all indications, has nothing to do with either of those used in black and white versions.

Among netizens on the X forum, there is speculation that Nothing A142P may be named Nothing Phone 2a Pro/Nothing Phone 2a Plus/Nothing Phone 2a Enhanced Version. However, the above-mentioned happenings are just speculations at that point of information which have not been affirmed in any case.

This is why there’s so much curiosity around the Nothing A142P which could be a substantial improvement over the Phone 2a. The addition of the “Pro” moniker to the name gives a lot of hope that this new equipment will improve performance, functions as well as design.

Nothing has yet to shed any light on the performance metrics of its forthcoming ear (as fans eagerly wait for more information and an official unveiling), but the appearance of the A142P certification has surely stoked some excitement and chatter among technophiles. They could further help Nothing solidify itself as a major player in the smartphone market, alongside several high-profile players it has already brought on board on its journey to bring an exciting new product to customers.
