Nothing has announced the launch of its latest true wireless earbuds in India, the Nothing Ear Open — at a price of ₹17,999. Unlike the Nothing Ear and Ear (1) which comes with an in-ear design, these earbuds have an open-ear design. Here are the details.
The All New Nothing Ear Open
Featuring a different design from the company’s other earphones, the Nothing Ear (1) Open keeps that signature transparent look. In India, they will initially come in a single White colour option while other colours might head over at a later stage. Nothing has started accepting pre-orders for the earbuds via its official website as of now, there is no information on their availability through other retailers, which indicates a launch delay as compared to global markets.
While the Nothing Ear Open doesn’t come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), it has been touted to have a Sound Seal System and directional speakers that were designed to ‘point’ sound only at the user, meaning they can enjoy their audio without disturbing those around them.
Nothing claims that these earbuds offer high-quality sound, thanks to 14.2 mm dynamic drivers and a titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate diaphragm inside them. Elsewhere, the model features pinch controls, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection support, plus AI Clear Voice Technology for advanced call quality.
Both the earbuds and charging case are rated IP54 for water and dust resistance. In terms of battery life, each earbud contains a 64mAh battery, while the case has a 635mAh battery. Nothing states that the earbuds offer up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge and up to 30 hours when paired with the charging case. For users without a Nothing smartphone, the Nothing X app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, providing full functionality and customization options. The earbuds also support Bluetooth codecs such as AAC and SBC.
