Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) to Launch on April 18

Nothing announced that it will release the Nothing Ear and Ear (a), two new items, on April 18 in a post on X (previously Twitter) on Friday. The Nothing Ear, which debuted in 2023, is anticipated to replace the Nothing Ear 2. It’s unknown at this time if a less expensive version of the Nothing Ear, called the Ear (a), would be released.

They had earlier this week hinted to an April 18 event, but they have now formally announced that they would be releasing two new earbud models called “Nothing Ear” and “Ear (a).”

Ear (1), Ear (2), and Ear (stick) have all launched since 2021. The product lineup has helped the company sell three million units to date and has garnered positive reviews from both customers and critics.

It has announced that two pairs of earphones will be released in 2024. In the space that was anticipated to be labeled “Nothing Ear (3),” the “Nothing Ear” appears to be the company’s new top-tier offering. “Ear (a)” appears to be a more reasonably priced product, comparable to the brand’s Phone (2a).

The goods will have updated noise canceling and be premium options. Additionally, nothing has verified to WIRED that the Ear will include a ceramic driver. The addition of the new driver will improve the clarity and sharpness of the TWS audio.

Additionally, the TWS can accommodate noise cancellation up to 45 dB, which is five dB louder than Ear (2). The brand’s Ear (a), on the other hand, will offer a cost-effective audio device that will appeal to consumers who are budget conscious.

There is no mention of the new earphones being the “culmination of three years of design and innovation,” nor does it allow the brand to “center the focus around the product and the unique experience.” The show is essentially getting a gentle reboot.
