HMD recently introduced a version of the Nokia G42 5G, in India, featuring a 4GB + 128GB model priced at ₹9,999. This particular variant will be exclusively sold on Amazon starting March 8. Alongside the existing choices of 6GB+128GB for ₹12,999 and 8GB+256GB for ₹16,999, the new setup also comes with a 2GB of RAM. The original release of the Nokia G42 was back in September in India.
The All New Variant of Nokia G42 5G
The Nokia G42 5G showcases a QuickFix design that allows for repair with its back cover and is made from 65% recycled plastic. It features a 6.56-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 × 1612 pixels) a rate of 90Hz, peak brightness of 450 nits, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ processor coupled with an Adreno GPU. It is available in configurations of either a combination of RAM or virtual RAM: 4+2 GB, 6+5 GB, and 8+8 GB, with storage options ranging from 128 GB to 256 GB that can be expanded using a microSD card slot.
Operating on Android version 14, the Nokia G42 5G can be updated to Android 15. The phone comes with a camera of 50MP and an f/1.8 aperture, as well as a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and LED flash. It also has an 8MP camera. The device runs on a battery that supports fast charging up to 20W.
Security features include a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition on the side. In terms of capabilities, it offers OZO Playback and OZO 3D Audio recording. Includes a traditional 3.5mm audio jack.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM functionality, 5G support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, and USB 2.0. The phone measures 165 × 75.8 × 8.55mm and weighs 193.8 grams. Additional features include IP52 water resistance and a QuickFix removable back cover. The Nokia G42 is available in color options of So Pink, So Purple, and So Grey.
