## Baseball Beats K-Pop — Just This Once

MBC has confirmed that the March 28 episode of **Music Core** has been cancelled to make way for live coverage of the **2026 KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) season opener**. The highly anticipated season-opening game between the **KIA Tigers** and the **SSG Landers** kicks off at 1:45 PM KST — running right into Music Core’s regular 3:15 PM time slot, leaving no room for the beloved music show this weekend.

It’s a sports vs. K-pop scheduling clash that happens occasionally in South Korea, where live national sporting events take broadcast priority. The [Korea Baseball Organization](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_Baseball_Organization), founded in 1981, is one of the country’s most followed professional sports leagues, so the season opener always draws significant viewership — enough to bump even the most popular entertainment programming.
