Matt Reeves’ Gotham is about to look very different. The Batman Part II began filming in June and is now set for February 18, 2028. Robert Pattinson returns, joined by Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and more. The bigger story, though, is who isn’t coming back.

The Batman Part II : The Falcone Family Bows Out
For the first time in Reeves’ Batman saga, the Falcones are absent. Carmine died at the end of the first film, and his son Alberto was killed in the opening episode of The Penguin. Sofia, played by Cristin Milioti, was also ruled out by Reeves himself.
The family once controlled Gotham’s underworld and owned much of its police force. Sofia later wiped out what remained of them and rebranded the empire under her mother’s maiden name, Gigante.
Catwoman’s Return Looks Slim
Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle was revealed as Carmine’s secret daughter. With her family ties gone and her ride out of Gotham at the first film’s end, there’s little pulling her back. She wasn’t in the cast announcement either.
