The Upcoming Nissan Magnite Facelift
Nissan Magnite facelift spotted at Bharat NCAP testing: What does it mean? Earlier seen on a test mule in India fully wrapped with camouflage, this heavily updated version was sighted in the partially completed state in the Bharat NCAP footage exposing its fresh face. Sad to see, but the changes appear to be quite minor, enough it seems, for Nissan India to be able to keep the design formula the same with which Magnite has been doing well in our country. Some of the key updates include a new face that reflects current marketplace tastes: a silver-accented bull bar-like element integrated into the front bumper.
The headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs are fitted) look like those on the current model, so it appears the same overall shape is being retained with most of the changes taking place in the plastic components. It also has been rumored that as other OEMs have recently done, fog lamp placement may change or that fog lamps might be eliminated. It is also worth noting that the facelifted variant seen at Bharat NCAP likely is a mid-spec model that has been tested for crash rating.
Safety rating-wise, the present Nissan Magnite (as well as the Kiger, its Renault cousin) have both scored a solid four-star for safety from Global NCAP, proving their safety prowess. The same expectations will also be built around the all-new Bharat NCAP tests for the Magnite facelift in the near future as well, keeping this strong safety performance a common sight.
In terms of features, the Nissan Magnite is competitively equipped for its price segment, with anticipated offerings such as automatic headlights, auto wipers, and potentially a sunroof. Higher trim levels of the current model boast amenities like auto climate control, a sizable infotainment screen, TFT instrument display, cruise control, wireless connectivity, wireless charging, front and rear armrests, bi-Xenon projector headlights, LED fog lights, LED turn indicators, passive entry, and push-button start.
The facelifted Magnite is expected to retain the familiar 1.0L 3-cylinder engine in both non-turbo and turbocharged variants, delivering up to 100 bhp and 152 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT. Anticipated for launch around the festive season, the facelift’s crash test results are likely to coincide with its market debut.
