According to some information that surfaced online from a reasonably reputable source, the yet-to-be-revealed Nintendo Switch successor may not be too far away from release. According to the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, Chinese investing website MoneyDJ anticipates an increase in sales for Hongzhun, a metal case manufacturer, in the second half of the year due to Nintendo’s plans to unveil its new console in the first quarter of 2024.
It Isn’t clear if this is the first quarter of the calendar or fiscal year, but if this information is right, it won’t be long before we discover more about what Nintendo has in store for the future.
While there is currently no way of knowing if this release window for the Switch successor is correct, MondeyDJ did correctly reveal information regarding the Nintendo Switch production back in 2016, when it was still known as the NX codename, so what has been revealed today may have some truth to it.
According to official statements, the Q1 release window for the Nintendo Switch successor, if correct, refers to the actual first quarter of 2024, as Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa revealed in May that no new hardware will be released before the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31st, 2024.
It was also reported that the cons” le would be released not long after its introduction, so with dev kits already in the hands of some developers, it appears that an official unveiling is not far off.
