Nintendo Switch’s successor is reportedly in the works by its manufacturer, and we have seen many rumours and speculations going around about the next-generation handheld gaming console. However, one rumour among is indeed believed to be true, and that is the inclusion of the T239 chip in the upcoming Nintendo console.

According to the latest updates offered by the tipster kopite7kimi, the code name of SoC will be “Black Knight”, and it will indeed be used in the rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro. The same tipster has also confirmed that the Switch Pro will come with a customized variant of the Nvidia Orin S processor, with “Orin” being associated with Nvidia’s automobile industry products.

Coming to the leaked specification of the Orin chip, its specs are indeed outstanding. The Orin’s CPU part is more powerful than that of the Tegra X1+ (12x Cortex-A78E vs. 4x Cortex-A57 + 4x Cortex-A53) and the GPU will have a bandwidth of 200 GB/s.

The information so far provided by kopite7kimi has proved to be more or less accurate. Coming to the “Black Knight”, we know that the Orin chips are named after DC Comic characters, and Marvel character names go to mobile chips. So this could imply that although the T239/Black Knight might borrow from Orin.

However, there are many strong rumours about the Nintendo Switch Pro which cannot be ignored. It’s even possible that Nintendo has more than one piece of gaming hardware in the works. All these rumours and speculations should be taken with a pinch of salt, and for any accurate information, let’s wait for Nintendo to make its official announcement.
