Nikon Z6 and Z7 Full-Frame Mirrorless cameras launched

Nikon launches two of their premium Full-Frame Mirrorless cameras – the Nikon Z6 and the Nikon Z7 in India with a starting price tag of Rs.1,69,950

Nikon is finally bringing two of their latest full-frame mirrorless cameras that was launched globally a month back. The DSLRs have always been predominant when photography comes into concern. Sony previously launched their mirrorless range of cameras –  the ‘Alpha’ range that has gained some momentum in the market.

The Japanese giant Nikon is finally waving their path towards mirrorless cameras launching two of their premium cameras: the Nikon Z6 and the Nikon Z6. Both of the cameras are powered by Nikon’s EXPEED 6 image-processing engine. Both of them share Nikon’s FX-format CMOS back-illuminated sensor and feature completely silent shooting.

Nikon Z6 and Z7 Full-Frame Mirrorless cameras launched

 

Having a high-resolution of 3.69 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinders with 100 per cent frame coverage also supports 0.8x magnification. Also, there’s a tilting 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen with 2.1 million dots.

Both of them also feature Active D-Lighting, electronic vibration reduction, and focus peaking for 4K UHD and 1080p movie recording. You will also be able to use N-Log colour profile with 10-bit HDMI output.

For the connectivity, you get support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Type C connectivity. Nikon says both of the cameras has a hybrid auto-focus system that automatically switches between focal-plane phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and contrast-detect auto-focus (CDAF).

Nikon Z6

The Nikon Z6 packs in a 24.5MP sensor and has an ISO range of 100 to 51,200 that reduces noise effectively even at the higher end while maintaining resolution. So, it will give you better results for low-light conditions.

It features 273 focus points that almost covers 90 per cent of the image area. It can focus in dim lighting conditions down to -4EV. Continuous shooting at up to approx. 12 fps is also available.

There is a wide array of movie functions, including full-pixel readout full-frame 4K UHD, Full HD 100/120p and 10-bit N-Log.

The price of the Nikon Z6 body only starts at Rs.1,69,950. With the 24-70mm f/2.4 lens kit, it will cost Rs.45,000 more…

Nikon Z7

As expected, the Nikon Z7 is more premium, the Nikon Z7 begins at Rs.2,69,950 for the body-only SKU. The Z7 has got a 45.7MP BSI CMOS sensor and has an ISO level range from 64 to 25,600.

With 493 focus points, it is expected to cover 100 per cent of the image area. But, the Nikon Z7 can only shoot at 9 fps in the continuous shooting mode.

The Nikon Z7 features 10-bit N-Log as well as 4K UHD and 8K time-lapse movie recording capabilities.  It can also shoot standard 1080p videos at up to 120fps.

 

Both the cameras support XQD memory cards while the body is weather-sealed to protect against rain and water damage. The full kit including the lens, the Z6 Mount Adapter FTZ Kit and the Nikon Z6 body costs it to Rs.2,26,950. While the full kit for Nikon Z7 with lens and the Z7 Mount Adapter FTZ Kit accounts to Rs.2,81,950.

Apart from the cameras, Nikon also revealed their new S-Line of lenses and lens mounts. This new line includes three new lenses –

  • the 24-70mm lens which is priced at Rs.78,450
  • the 35mm f/1.8 lens which is priced at Rs.66,950
  • the Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 lens  which is priced at Rs.50,950

 

The FTZ mount ensures that your old F-Line lenses do not become obsolete. They can be used as the S-Line lenses, maintaining compatibility. This FTZ mount is priced at Rs.19,950.

Well. the exact date of availability has not been disclosed but we soon expect the cameras to be showing up in the market… We will keep this space updated with the availability of the cameras and the lenses.
