Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic had rumours linking him with Manchester United about three years ago. He is not going to extend the contract and is leaving the club this summer. The player only has one year left on his current deal and sees his future elsewhere, this raises the perfect opportunity for Fiorentina to cash in by selling the player.
In September, West Ham United offered €25 million but they wanted €40 million. They can’t ask for €40 this summer, mainly because they risk losing Milenkovic on a free transfer next summer if he does end up staying. The player wants to change teams, but West Ham United are not looking at this target anymore.
Manchester United are still scouting the player, although nothing concrete has been achieved between any two parties yet. He has been scouted by a lot of English clubs and has huge chances of moving to Premier League, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast.
Milenkovic is one of the first names on the team sheet for the Serie A clubs, and is rated as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe. At 23, he still has a lot to experience at the highest level with Champions League football still to come for the Serbian.
