Nike has released their World Cup advertisement for the 2022 Qatar edition, labelled ‘GOAT Experiment’ by the brand. The advertisement features some of the most notable Nike athletes in the planet, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Ronaldinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Virgil Van Dijk making an appearance.
The backdrop for the ad is a computer lab, where scientists are trying to find out the best player of all-time, and how the past measures up against the present.

Later in the ad, we sea Chelsea women’s star Sam Kerr make an appearance in the ad as well. She shows some flashy footwork before scoring against the men, until the original Ronaldo (R9), shows up along with his past version.
Naturally, his haircut was made fun of by his other past version until the present version arrived, asking ‘what was going on’. There is also an eye-catching Inazuma Eleven spot in the ad, making it all the more better.
The 2022 edition of the World Cup kicks off on 20 November with host country Qatar facing off against Ecuador. This is the first year that the tournament is being held in Qatar, amidst all the controversy and complaints of a winter World Cup.
