Nicolo Zaniolo is open to a transfer to Galatasaray from Roma, with the two clubs in discussion about the deal. Bournemouth, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing the player, but were not able to reach an agreement.
Bournemouth were pushing for a €40 million transfer, but did not have the player’s approval. And when he did say yes, they had moved on to other transfer targets. In the end, the January transfer window closed with Nicolo Zaniolo staying at Roma. But, the club is exploring the possibility of a permanent transfer away as they don’t want a loan deal.
Nicolo Zaniolo in talks over Galatasaray transfer from Roma
The terms of the deal are currently being discussed, with a loan deal not expected to take place. As things stand, Nicolo Zaniolo is out of Jose Mourinho’s plans for the future because of his behaviour.
He asked to leave and was not included in the squad during January. And a move away seems to be the only possible solution for him right now. Otherwise, he could be frozen out of the squad if he chooses to continue at the Italian capital.
A fresh update on the situation is expected on Monday after the two clubs continue discussions over the transfer. It now remains to be seen how the future of the attacking midfielder plays out, with an exit from Serie A very likely.
