Five years deal set to be completed and announced, Barella’s salary will be increased. Here-we-go.

Barella’s current contract runs until 2024, but Inter Milan see the player as a vital part of their future. They want Barella to inherit the captain’s armband from Samir Handanovic when the keeper eventually leaves. The new contract would discourage any other clubs to try and sign the player since he has a long-term deal in place.

The 24-year-old is one of the highest valued players in the squad, currently valued at €65 million. He was a vital part of the lineup that won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte last season. Over the summer, he also won the European Championship with Italy.

Barella has been with Inter Milan since 2019, having moved to the San Siro from Cagliari. Over the last couple of years, he has established himself as a key part of the midfield. And now, the board wants him committed to the club for the next few years.
