Nicola Coughlan is trading ballgowns for something decidedly more Dahl-esque. Reports confirm she’s been filming overnight scenes for Netflix’s upcoming Roald Dahl series, and the production has added **Kevin Bishop** and **Kadeem Ramsay** to the cast. No official title or release date yet—but the momentum is real. For background on the author’s legacy, see [Roald Dahl](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roald_Dahl) on Wikipedia.

## Nicola Coughlan: Overview

| Quick Read | What We Know |
| --- | --- |
| Lead | Nicola Coughlan |
| New cast | Kevin Bishop, Kadeem Ramsay |
| Production status | Overnight filming underway |
| Platform | Netflix |
| Source material | Roald Dahl’s works |
| Release date | Not announced—treat viral dates with caution |

**Why the buzz feels different.** Coughlan has built a reputation for characters who are warm, sharp and quietly defiant—qualities that fit Dahl’s world perfectly. Overnight shoots suggest the production is deep into a demanding schedule, not just early testing. That usually means the series is moving forward with confidence.

**The new additions matter.** Kevin Bishop brings sharp comic timing, while Kadeem Ramsay adds grounded intensity. A Dahl adaptation lives or dies on tonal balance—whimsy without sugar, menace without cruelty. If the casting leans into that mix, the series could avoid the trap of feeling like a children’s film stretched into episodes.

**Don’t expect a premiere date yet.** Overnight filming is a production detail, not a scheduling announcement. Netflix will confirm the title, cast roles and release window when it’s ready. Until then, treat rumours as chatter—not a calendar invite.
