Barcelona are working to complete a loan deal for Nico Gonzalez within this week. The youngster will be sent to Valencia for the 22/23 season, with no option to make the move permanent.

The 20-year-old will be extending his contract with Barcelona before making the move. His current deal runs until 2024, and was his professional contract signed upon his debut last year. The new deal will extend his stay with the Blaugranas, and will likely have a release clause as well.

Nico Gonzalez to join Valencia, Alex Collado to leave next

After Nico, Alex Collado is expected to be the next young player to be loaned out for the coming season. The latter is being discussed as of right now, with nothing concrete achieved as of yet.

Olympiakos, Celtic, and two unnamed La Liga clubs have been rumoured as potential destinations for the player, according to Albert Roge. The La Masia graduate spent last season at Granada, capping off an impressive spell.

Xavi appreciates the former Barcelona B captain, but is spoilt for options in attacking midfield. Which means that he will have to let go of the player this summer.

Barcelona are also planning for the departures of Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The latter’s move to Chelsea will shape the future of Depay, based on whether or not it is completed.
