Mumbai City FC and Barcelona academy’s Niall Goghavala has signed for the Blackburn Rovers as part of their youth academy. The U-15 player has been highly rated by his peers and coaches, and could be a significant prospect if he can work his way up to the B-team or the first team which competes in the Championship (2nd tier of England).
Playing as an attacker, the competition will be high for spots considering how much talent is already present at an English club. But, with Goghavala could eventually work his way up with sufficient time.

Considering the lack of Indian strikers played in the ISL, Niall Goghavala’s development could be vital for the Indian national team in the long-term. The likes of Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia and Vikram Partap Singh have only recently started to come up after Sunil Chhetri’s dominance in the position.
And it’ll be interesting to see whether Goghavala can stay at Blackburn for the long run, considering how few Indian players succeed abroad.
Recently, Edmund Lalrindika of Inter Kashi made the move to Canadian side Atletico Ottawa in preparation for the coming season. And now, another talented youngster has followed, opening up opportunities for more to follow suit and gain exposure and experience.
