Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr. had a deal with Nike. The deal was a very long 11-years deal. But this year, with still 2 years remaining on his Nike deal, Neymar broke his partnership with Nike.

The world’s most expensive player (PSG paid €222m to Barcelona in 2017) joined hands with Puma for a staggering deal. Puma have offered to pay Neymar a whopping £23m-a-year.

This new deal of Neymar and Puma makes it the richest in football history, beating the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo has a £15m-a-year Nike deal, while Lionel Messi gets £18m-a-year from his Adidas partnership.

The huge sums of the deal were revealed by Forbes, but the length of the deal is still unknown. Neymar is now the face of the German brand, wearing Puma boots, lifestyle wear and training gear.

The Brazilian was pretty close to winning his second continental treble (he won his first with Barcelona in 2015) but lost the Champions League final to Bayern Munich. He would like to partner with Mbappe once again and have a go at the European title this season.
