Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is all set to extend his contract with the French Champions after years and years of speculation regarding the Brazilian’s future, with the player being linked back to Barcelona almost every single transfer window since his infamous snubbing of Barcelona for the Parisians in a world record deal.
Speaking on the player on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio provided an update which put every PSG fan at ease, confirming that Neymar is in fact, very close to an agreement with the club regarding a new contract and will extend his stay till the next four years.
The club recently dismissed Thomas Tuchel and appointed former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, and the word out is that the Brazilian is very happy with his fellow South American at the club, and is also very impressed with the project that he finds at the club.
Romano and Porzio also commented on the fact that something seems to have changed in the player, and guessed that it was probably the effect of experience on the player that has changed his stance on PSG.
The transfer insiders also asserted that Neymar was not joking when he said he saw playing alongside former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi as a goal for the new year. The Parisians are one of the only few clubs in the world who actually have the financial backing to move for Lionel Messi if, or, when his contract expires with Barcelona this summer.
The new contract tying Neymar down to Paris for the foreseeable future is set to be announced in the next few weeks.
