Manchester United winger Antony has come under fire for his showboating against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.
The Brazilian was quite flashy with his skill moves in the 3-0 win over the Moldovan side. And Neymar has come out in support of his playing style, writing on Instagram: “Keep it up, don’t change anything! Go for it boy! Boldness and joy.”
Neymar speaks out in support of Antony
Brazilians have always been famous for their skill moves, and live by ‘joga bonito’ or the joy of playing football. Some of the best and most skilled with the ball at their feet have come out of the country, and Antony is among the next generation that includes Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo as well.
Neymar himself has been extremely prolific with the ball at his feet, and is now one of the more senior players in the Brazil National team.
And following his example, the youngsters are continuing to show their brilliance with the ball fearlessly.
Erik Ten Hag was quite neutral about this issue in particular, and simply said that he didn’t appreciate skill moves that weren’t functional. Antony himself has had a remarkable start to life with the Premier League club, scoring three goals so far.
