Neymar has revealed that Lionel Messi, his former Barcelona and PSG teammate, wanted him to sign for Inter Miami. The Argentine made the move last year, after leaving PSG as a free agent. And alongside him, his former Barcelona teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have followed.
Suarez was the latest of the group to sign for the MLS club – with the Uruguayan ending his spell with Brazilian club Gremio to join them in the winter transfer window. As a result, there is a full-blown Barcelona reunion in Miami and the arrival of Neymar would have only made it more iconic.

The Brazilian is currently injured, and has spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines after signing for Al Hilal in the summer for around €80 million. But only a year after signing and a handful of appearances, a departure would be difficult to arrange contractually. Therefore, it seems likely that Neymar is set to stay exactly where he is even though he has been de registered by the club while he recovers from his injury.
